CLERK OF COURSE - HOME AND AWAY MEETS

This volunteer position will make sure that swimmers are lined up in order, seated in staging chairs and then get them proceed to get behind the blocks.

BULL PEN – HOME AND AWAY MEETS

This volunteer position will ensure that swimmers (per age group) are in the staging area for their scheduled swim event.

RELAYS – HOME AND AWAY MEETS

This volunteer position will gather swimmers for relays and give them their relay card (if they are 10 and under). They will also make sure 10 and under swimmers are lined up near the block (swimmers 1 & 3) or near the end of the pool (swimmers 2 & 4) depending on their relay order.

TIMER – HOME AND AWAY MEETS

This volunteer is assigned to a specific lane and will be responsible for verifying the swimmers name as well as getting an accurate time for each event.

ANNOUNCER – HOME MEETS

This volunteer will be the announcer at the meet alerting swimmers and volunteers when it is time to begin, playing the national anthem, and music (when allowed) throughout the meets.

STARTER – HOME MEETS

THIS POSITION REQUIRES LEAGUE TRAINING. We need a starter for home meets. Our current starter will be able to train at the meets after the league training has been completed. This position will alert the swimmers that they need to step up on the block, take their mark and sound the buzzer to begin the start of each swim race.

JUDGE – HOME AND AWAY MEETS

THIS POSITION REQUIRES LEAGUE TRAINING. We are in desperate need of judges. You will need to sit through an online "GO TO" meeting to be trained before the season starts. This position requires standing at either end of the pool to confirm that swimmers are doing each stroke correctly.

PARKING

This position requires being available to put parking signs out on Thursday morning before the meet. Needs to make sure both parking lots near the clubhouse are closed off (with orange cones) and reserved for coaches, scoring, announcer, opposing team council and coaches. Also, this position requires being available before the meet to direct cars to designated parking lots. If the lot close to the pool is full, need to put the ‘parking lot full’ sign out. Direct other cars to lower parking lot.

HEAD OF CONCESSIONS – HOME MEETS

This volunteer will purchase the items we need to sell at concessions during home meets. They will order hot food to pick up or to be delivered during the meet. Also, help as needed in the concession area.

CONCESSIONS – HOME MEETS

Help as needed in the concession area during home meets. The 1st half position starts at 5:00 and helps with set up. The 2nd half position will help with tear down. This position requires taking money from people who purchase items sold at concessions.

SCORING ASSISTANT – HOME MEETS

This person will be responsible for helping the Scoring Manager with data entry and other tasks for the overall ACCURATE completion of the scoring process. This position is located in the clubhouse with limited viewing of the swim meet. Things to consider ... Swimmers (or other children) are not allowed in clubhouse. You must have excellent attention to detail and data entry skills is a huge plus. Due to the learning curve, we encourage anyone interested in this position to sign up for all home meets.
